Brand New Adairsville Home, BUILT BY MIKE McMILLAN HOMES, INC. Single Mom and 2 children almost die from mold. Most Deadly Home Tested. Raw Sewage, mold, etc. Passed Inspection at Bartow County Courthouse. Family lost everything, Forced to claim bankruptcy after Contractor claims bankruptcy leaving them sick, medical bills the rest of their life and life savings gone and broke.
WE WERE IN SHOCK. EVERYTHING IS FALLING APART AND NOTHING WORKS. WE HAVE FOUL ODOR IN HOME AND BECOMING SICK. MY HOME DID NOT RESEMBLE THE MODEL HOMES AT ALL I WAS SHOWN.
Buying a new home is suppose to be exciting. You are given many promises, new appliances, 1 year warranty, any complaints, just come to the front office and we will fix it. Obstacles/boxes placed in front of defects, sticker on cracked window installed. paint over lineleum which had damaged glue spot. Appliances not pluged in or tested. Dishwasher broke due to NO water pressure and bottom wheel not turning and burned.
Mitering was temporarily glued with something like chewing gum. Tags were placed in front of bad wood. Problems heating and cooling home, pipes twisted and some completely shut off, Hay was laid very thick to hide BURIED TRASH, LIMBS, SIDING, GLASS, BUCKET, NAILS, CONCRETE, LARGE PIPE, ETC. I complained and was asked to pay $500 to repair the yard. Landscapers claimed they couldn't pull back sod and clean up trash, this would be a charge. We were getting injured in yard and worked many months on yard digging up trash, more surfaced when it rained.. Faucets placed without hot water heater on and all faucets placed on cold, except for one, which scalded my child when he jumped in tub. All painting had to be redone. Raw Sewage in child's hall closet. I called out plumbers due to raw sewage open in our hall closet, he responded. "Mamm, we are not responsible. We do exactly as the Contractor instructs us. I was quoted $7,0000 by a reputable plumbing service to repair the sump pump.
My Own Thoughts
LAWS MUST BE CHANGED IN GEORGIA. Contractor MUST abide by 1 year warranty or held in default immediately. This will stop Contractors from taking advantage of single women like myself with a family to raise. Contractors that drag this out over a year, must be forced to pay all fees and cost, including attorney fees prior to going to court. Homeowner should not go bankrupt because they purchased a brand new home and have medical bills and have lost everything due to BUYING A NEW HOME.

MODEL HOME SHOWED SCREWED IN WOOD. NAIL GUN USED INSTEAD, SET AT TOO HIGH OF PRESSURE, DESTROYING SO MUCH WOOD.
